ABOUT THE PROJECT
This project exists to honor, celebrate and inspire
the voices of contemporary women in the Bhakti tradition.
Originally, it dedicated itself to gathering the poems of vaishnavis from all around the world and publishing them in a book. In August 2017 we manifested this vision and published Bhakti Blossoms, which includes the poetic voices of 108 of our vaishnavi sisters from various sangas.
Now, the Vaishnavi Voices Project is committed to supporting and encouraging gaudiya vaishnavis and their valuable service through featuring them on this website, and facilitating a sweet solidarity between us all.
We are interested in all the beautiful and diverse contributions women make to the Bhakti communities and individual practices flourishing around the world. From cooking, sewing, child care and gardening, to lecturing, writing, performing arts, music, professional careers, etc, we seek to paint a picture of the many ways the women of bhakti enrich the tradition. And, especially, of the amazing women behind all of these offerings!
This site will therefore feature the profiles of individual vaishnavis and the unique and original ways in which they are living a life of Bhakti yoga. If you are a woman practicing Bhakti Yoga and would like to participate, please let us know! Just click here.
