Our Bhakti tradition is full of beautiful, spiritual poetry!
The songs we sing every day and the verses of our sacred texts are heartfelt poems. Poems are like passages into our inner selves, mirrors of our thoughts, vehicles that move depths to the surface. Reading poetry can transport and transform us in the most unexpected ways. Composing a poem exercizes our hearts and can serve as part of our personal sadhana. In sharing our poetry we form a sanga of poets, inspiring one another upon our individual spiritual journeys. This book illuminates what stirs in the devotional hearts of contemporary vaishnavis so that we may inspire and uplift each other as well as others on the path of Bhakti. “This much anticipated volume of beautiful poetry was written by serious practitioners of Bhakti. Many of these incredible women entered the tradition through birth, while others began practicing Bhakti during late teens and early adulthood, embracing it at various degrees of depth as their path in life. The authors’ combined experiences have resulted in this extraordinary first-of-its-kind-masterpiece. I found myself surprised by my own eagerness to immerse myself in their Bhakti-filled experiences and adventures—devouring the poems. I am confident that others will also.”

"The publication of Bhakti Blossoms marks a watershed moment for contemporary Hindu literature generally, and this tradition's devotional canon in particular. This anthology presents, perhaps for the first time, a collection of female practitioner-poets who draw from and honor centuries old tradition, but also articulate devotion in their own personal and refreshingly modern voices. The fact that these poets hail from a diversity of ethnicities and backgrounds speaks to a dynamic transnational and intergenerational approach that is quickly becoming a hallmark of 21st Century Hinduism. The result is a fine collection of poems that serve as thought-provoking spiritual reflections and heartfelt love songs to the Divine Beloved."
